Amazon sellers are increasingly losing the Buy Box because they realize their system is incorrectly matching products with lower prices elsewhere.
The problem is, Amazon doesn’t tell you exactly where it’s cheaper, just the “competitive outside price.” So it’s up to sellers to figure out what Amazon is comparing their products to.
Sometimes the comparison doesn’t even make sense.
For example, you might be selling a $300 bundle of products, but Amazon is comparing it to a single product that sells for $10 elsewhere.
This comes at a time when Amazon is under fire for potentially unfair pricing practices.
To resolve this issue, sellers are having to proactively speak to Amazon to clarify or dispute these price comparisons. Ignoring the issue can lead to more problems down the road.
