Similar to previous years, Amazon is temporarily extending the return period for customers who want to get an early start on their holiday shopping. This year’s Extended Holiday Return Policy requires that products purchased between November 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023 (excluding Apple-branded products) can be returned by January 31, 2024. Apple products can be returned by January 15, 2024. This policy applies to seller-fulfilled, FBA, and Amazon retail orders.
GOOD OR BAD?
Sellers and buyers are divided on this extended return period.
Many sellers are not very fond of the extended return period. Why? Because it can increase the return rate and make it easier for bad actors to commit return fraud. However, for customers who are shopping for the holiday season in particular, the extension can be a great relief. On the other hand, the shorter return period this year compared to previous years can reduce the impact of returns on your holiday profits. Therefore, despite the differences of opinion between both sides, there are some positive aspects.
